An homage to the music and friendship of two giants of Jazz.
Trumpeter and bandleader, Axel Kaner-Lidstrom brings together some of the finest improvisors in the capital to celebrate the music of two of the most influential composers of the 20th Century; Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.
Axel Kaner-Lidstrom is a trumpet player, band-leader, and composer. Born and raised in London to a musical family, he is an alumnus of Tomorrow’s Warriors and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music.
Most recently, Axel recorded an album with jazz legend, and Miles Davis band member, Gary Bartz, as well as touring internationally with rising star Celeste, performing Glastonbury Festival and Philharmonie De Paris to name a few.
Axel founded and directs Levitation Orchestra, a composer’s workshop that focuses on collectivity in creativity and aims to develop a cross-pollination of perspectives and concepts through the creation of original suites of music.
