With support by The Orbazoid
The Orbazoid will be playing a set of original tunes written by bandleader Dylan Orba. These tunes are a unique blend of infinite influences, a couple of words to sum it up are jazz, rock, psychedelic and avant garde. While the compositions have their roots in the world of jazz, the lineup twists that on its head, with the powerful rock guitar of Max Montenaro, thumping electric bass of George Balmont and then weird and wonderful synth sounds from Dylan Orba alongside a classic bit of trombone every now and then. You won’t know whats coming next.
About Florence Joelle
Florence Joelle is a Paris-born jazz singer, songwriter, harmonica player, and recording artist based in London, where she is a favourite performer across the city. Bred on jazz at home, and on the music of the Paris streets, she has created a musical subgenre all of her own with her albums, Kiss Of Fire, Stealing Flowers and Life Is Beautiful If You Let It, a Franco-Anglo blend of Latin and classic jazz, vintage and contemporary blues, gypsy folk, fifties R&B and Parisian torch song. Joelle’s latest offering, a collaboration with modernist bluesmen Tiny Flaws released last year, was played on the BBC, Acid Jazz’s Totally Wired radio station and many more. Joelle’s authentic, organic sound, although deeply rooted in the past, vibrates in the present. Classic jazz, French chanson and old-style R&B happily rub shoulders in her compositions.
Her albums have received 4-star reviews in Mojo, Jazzwise, the Evening Standard, Q Magazine and Record Collector, amongst others. Designer Alexander McQueen’s autumn winter 2025 collection’s Soho theme has honoured her by featuring her on a limited edition t-shirt.
“Her music has a heady, jazzy swing of the hips.” — Q Magazine
