About Frida Ruiz-Berman

Frida Ruiz-Berman is a young, upcoming New York City-based jazz vocalist and actress from Houston, Texas. Moving from Salt Lake City to Lisbon to Houston throughout her childhood, Frida developed a marked passion for the performing arts from a young age, taking up theatre and singing.

After moving to New York City in 2024, Frida immersed herself in the city’s jazz scene and subsequently attended the Tribeca Jazz Institute in 2025, studying and playing alongside professionals such as Lucy Yeghiazaryan, Michael Kanan, Maucha Adnet, Paul Sikieve, Greg Ruggiero, and Chris Byars.

Upon finishing the program, she has begun slowly working her way further into the scene and developing her craft, releasing her debut record ‘Frida Ruiz-Berman’ as a culmination of this period. After embarking on her Texas tour, Frida is on the heels of her first European Tour, with dates across Portugal, Oslo, and England. Praised for her classic and expressive renditions of jazz standards, Frida continuously morphs what she learns through acting with her understanding of jazz, creating present yet refined interpretations of the Great American Songbook.
