Dylan Chandler Quartet

Barcelona-born saxophonist Dylan Chandler leads a four-piece exploring original contemporary jazz shaped by improvisation, strong melodic ideas and influences from folk, rock, pop and classical music.

Modern jazz blending melody, improvisation and diverse influences

The Dylan Chandler Quartet is a London-based modern jazz project centred around original music that balances simplicity with musical depth.

Bringing together four highly individual musicians from the UK, Canada and Dylan’s own Spanish-English background, the quartet creates an intimate and expressive sound rooted in jazz and improvisation, while drawing freely from folk, pop, rock and classical music.

At the heart of the project is a search for a distinctive musical language: music that can be sophisticated without becoming inaccessible. Dylan describes the approach as “simply complex” — refined and exploratory, yet melodic, direct and emotionally engaging.

With all four musicians immersed in London’s thriving contemporary jazz scene and connected through the Royal Academy of Music, the quartet combines strong individual voices with a shared appetite for improvisation and musical exploration.
