GéNIA – Things I Never Told You
Concert pianist and composer GéNIA shares the music and untold stories behind her life, pairing classical favourites, minimalism and jazz influences with her own compositions in an intimate evening of solo piano and personal revelations.
Some Musical. Some Personal. Some Unexplainable.
What lies behind the life of a concert pianist?
In Things I Never Told You, pianist and composer GéNIA brings together solo piano and personal storytelling, sharing the music and unexpected experiences that have shaped her life, on stage and beyond.
The programme travels from Scarlatti, Mozart, Debussy and Rachmaninoff to the hypnotic minimalism of Philip Glass, Karen Tanaka and Somei Satoh, before exploring the jazz-infused music of Gershwin and Fazıl Say. Alongside these works, GéNIA performs her own neoclassical compositions, heard on Classic FM and in television productions including Killing Eve and The Day of the Jackal.
Between the pieces come stories her audiences have never heard before: some musical, some personal, some difficult to explain. Together, they reveal a life far less conventional than the polished world of the concert platform might suggest.
Join GéNIA at Toulouse Lautrec for an intimate evening of piano music, untold stories and a few surprises.
