Violinist and composer Casey Whyte brings her quartet to Toulouse Lautrec for an evening of original compositions and arrangements, exploring contemporary jazz and folk.

Drawing on her Irish background, Casey weaves folk influences into parts of her repertoire alongside compositions rooted firmly in modern jazz.

The quartet met at the Royal Academy of Music and features Will Inscoe on piano, Zaki Osahn on bass and Cian Burton on drums.

About the band

Casey Whyte
Casey Whyte – Violin

Casey Whyte is a 19-year-old jazz and classical violinist and composer studying jazz at the Royal Academy of Music. She has performed alongside artists including Nigel Kennedy, John McLaughlin, Liane Carroll, Martin Taylor, Stochelo and Mozes Rosenberg, and Gareth Lockrane. Her quartet provides a platform for her original music, bringing together her modern jazz language and Irish folk influences.

Will Inscoe
Will Inscoe – Piano

London-based pianist, composer and arranger Will Inscoe has performed alongside John McLaughlin at La Note Bleue in Monaco and appeared at Ronnie Scott’s as part of Phil Meadows’ Future Movers series. He performs regularly with his own trio and as a sideman, with appearances at PizzaExpress Live, Oliver’s Jazz Bar and Crazy Coqs, as well as BBC Radio 3’s In Tune.

Zaki Osahn
Zaki Osahn — Bass

Bassist Zaki Osahn brings a versatile approach to improvisation and experience across a wide range of musical settings. Studying at the Royal Academy of Music, he has worked with artists including Jasper Høiby, Alex Ridout and Giacomo Smith, and performed alongside Reuben Fox, Deschanel Gordon, Miles Mindlin and Orphy Robinson.

Cian Burton
Cian Burton — Drums

Originally from Buckinghamshire and now based in London, Cian Burton studies at the Royal Academy of Music. He has studied with drummers including Ari Hoenig, John Riley, James Maddren and Kendrick Scott, developing a style shaped by a strong melodic and compositional approach.
