El Chamuyo Quartet
El Chamuyo Quartet celebrate their debut EP with a vibrant fusion of Argentine tango and jazz as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
Tango Reimagined Through Jazz
El Chamuyo Quartet celebrate the release of their debut EP with a thrilling journey through Argentine tango, from the dance halls of 1920s Buenos Aires to the revolutionary music of Astor Piazzolla and beyond as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
From the irresistible dance rhythms of tango’s Golden Era to the dramatic, genre-defying world of tango nuevo, El Chamuyo Quartet explore more than a century of Argentine musical tradition.
Alongside classic repertoire and the music of Astor Piazzolla, the quartet will perform original compositions that push tango into fresh territory, drawing on jazz harmony and improvisation while remaining deeply rooted in the music’s dance-floor origins.
Experience sultry melodies, intricate rhythms, fiery ensemble playing and virtuosic improvisation from four outstanding musicians.
