Lyon Sisters in Concert
Gwen and Ruby Lyon present their farewell concert at Toulouse Lautrec, featuring show tunes, pop hits, jazz and plenty of sisterly chaos.
Show tunes, pop hits, jazz and sibling wit from Gwen and Ruby Lyon
As it was once foretold: “Bye bye bye (bye bye).” The Lyon Sisters return to Toulouse Lautrec for their farewell concert before one abandons the other and heads back to their home country, New Zealand.
Expect a lively mix of show tunes, pop favourites and a sprinkling of jazz, served with classic Lyon Sisters banter, light roasting and the kind of sibling chemistry that simply cannot be rehearsed. Joined at the piano by Cerys McKenna, Gwen and Ruby promise one final evening of big voices, sharp wit and sisterly banter.
About the Lyon Sisters
Gwen Lyon is the older sister, and acts like it. Armed with an MA in Musical Theatre from GSA and an Honours degree in Opera from the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music, Gwen will bravely attempt to sing jazz.
Ruby Lyon is the younger and, according to everyone, more beautiful sister. During the UK tour of Les Misérables, she was bestowed the honour of delivering an original line, which has since been removed from the musical.
This farewell performance marks Gwen and Ruby’s seventh concert as a duo.
