From the passionate dancehall classics of the Golden Era to the dramatic, genre-defying masterpieces of Astor Piazzolla, the quartet brings tango’s rich history vividly to life, infused with the harmonic language, spontaneity and swing of jazz. Alongside beloved repertoire, the programme also features striking original compositions, expanding the tango tradition into fresh and unexpected territory.

About El Chamuyo Quartet
London-based and internationally connected, El Chamuyo Quartet blur the boundaries between tango and jazz with flair and authenticity. Rooted in dance culture, they regularly perform at milongas for tango dancers as well as at leading jazz clubs and concert venues. Recent appearances include POSK Jazz Cafe, Green Note, Jamboree (London), Bracknell Jazz Festival and Guildford Jazz Festival, and the quartet has been invited to perform as an official orchestra at the Welsh Tango Nuevo Festival in Swansea.
