Jimmy Regal and the Royals

Award-nominated South London trio Jimmy Regal and The Royals serve up hard-driving, harmonica-led blues rooted in Mississippi, New Orleans and beyond.

Howlin’ blues with deep grooves and plenty of swagger

South London powerhouse trio Jimmy Regal and The Royals bring their hard-driving, harmonica-led blues to Toulouse Lautrec.

Rooted in the deep sounds of Mississippi and New Orleans, their music also draws on the rhythms of Senegal, the grit of Canvey Island and the energy of their South London home. The result is robust, original blues with plenty of groove, swagger and fire.

Joff Watkins leads from the front on vocals and harmonica, trading lines with CJ Williams’ inventive guitar over the driving rhythms of drummer Sammy Samuels. It’s a stripped-back three-piece with a big sound: raw when it needs to be, joyful when it wants to be and always built for a live audience.

Expect original songs, deep grooves and no-nonsense blues. With four UK Top 10 blues albums and a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts on the circuit, this is a night blues fans won’t want to miss.
