Blending original compositions with reimagined classics, the quartet moves effortlessly through jazz, funk, soul, Latin, bossa nova and beyond. Expect rich grooves, expressive musicianship and a colourful mix of styles from a band described by The Guardian’s John Lewis as “a terrific band with a clutch of witty and beautifully crafted songs”.
Featuring Tamara Barschak on piano and vocals, Ollie Weston on saxophone and flute, Davide Mantovani on electric bass and Justin Tambini on drums, this is a night of genre-crossing music full of warmth, rhythm and character.
About Tamara Barschak
Tamara Barschak is a pianist, singer and composer who trained as a classical pianist in London and at the Conservatoire de Montreuil in Paris. She has performed at venues across the UK and is known for music that draws together jazz, soul, Latin, klezmer, samba and more.
Alongside her work as a performer, Tamara has composed for stage, film, advertising, animation, pop videos and visual media. Her credits include the branding advert Basta Pouco for the Rome International Film Festival, the soundtrack to the Italian art house film Indian Dream, and the award-winning score for The 2.40 to London. In 2023, Trinity College of Music published her piano variations on A Whiter Shade of Pale, titled Variations on a Procol Theme.
About the Quartet
Ollie Weston is a highly acclaimed UK jazz saxophonist who has performed with artists including Amy Winehouse, Bonobo, Frank Turner and the London Jazz Orchestra. He is co-founder of the jazz ensemble Time Is Of The Essence and has also worked on major West End shows including Chicago and Dreamgirls.
Davide Mantovani is one of the UK’s most respected bass players, with a career spanning more than three decades. He has performed with leading artists including João Donato, Seckou Keita, Tony Allen, Lisa Stansfield and Baaba Maal, and has released six critically acclaimed albums of his own.
Justin Tambini is an award-winning drummer, composer and educator recognised for his expressive, dynamic and groove-led playing. His career has taken him from intimate jazz clubs to major venues including Ronnie Scott’s and the Royal Festival Hall, as well as theatres and cabaret venues across London’s West End.
