Tom Ford: Residency
Guitarist and composer Tom Ford launches a monthly residency exploring jazz, funk, soul and an ever-evolving mix of musical influences, with support from CLIO TRIO on Thursday 3 December.
Genre-Defying Jazz, Funk & Improvisation
Tom Ford brings his wide-ranging musical influences to Toulouse Lautrec for a new monthly residency driven by improvisation, curiosity and fearless creative expression.
Moving fluidly between jazz, funk and soul, the music pays tribute to artists as varied as The Police, The Smiths, Allan Holdsworth and Milton Nascimento. Rather than being restricted by genre, Tom uses these influences as a springboard for something distinctly his own: open, spontaneous music that continues to evolve with every performance.
Each instalment of the residency will offer something different, reflecting Tom’s continual pursuit of creative growth and change.
With support from CLIO TRIO
Originally formed as a way for Jamie to connect with friends through music, CLIO has developed a distinctive sound drawing on the depth of the UK music scene. For this stripped-back performance on Thursday 3rd December, Jamie joins flautist Belle Brunson and pianist Lior Solomons-Wise to perform his original compositions alongside reinterpretations of other songs, with echoes of Norman Willmore and Kenny Wheeler.
