Tom Ford: Residency

Constant Motion

Tom Ford’s music is a diverse mix of genres and influence but with a heavy emphasis on improvisation, even though there are elements paying tribute to The Police, The Smiths, Allan Holdsworth and Milton Nascimento. Tom is striving to really showcase his influences and love of varied music in a format that is unashamed but also unrestricted from a creative and expressive point of view. The concept being truly about always striving for creative growth and change within himself.

The set will be all originals written by Anchit Sengupta and Herbie Rees, the originals are heavily influenced by jazz but also music from the classic rock era, EDM music and funk music. The unique feature about the writing is it features the electric bass to play the lead role in lot of cases, while the guitar sits back and locks in with the groove, creating several new textures within the context of a guitar trio.

About Tom Ford

Tom Ford has been a steady member of the UK jazz scene for the past 10 years having regularly performed at Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Cafe, 91 living room and more as well as being a regular sideman for Reuben James, Jas Kayser and Jay Phelps. He has also been welcomed into the US and European jazz scenes respectively touring and recording with Chris ‘daddy’ Dave’s drumhedz, Keyon Harrold, Pet Eldh’s Projekt Drums amongst others. Outside of jazz he also writes and produces for many people in both the jazz and commercial world, having worked across the world in LA, NY, Europe and Brazil.

About Organised Chaos

Herbie Rees– Herbie Rees is an electric bassist based in London, emerging as an exciting voice on the UK jazz scene. He has performed at renowned venues including the 606 Club and PizzaExpress Jazz Club, while also sharing the stage with leading musicians such as Chris Montague, Ant Law and Charlie Stacey.

Alongside his work as a collaborator, Herbie’s own music takes a distinctive, guitar-inspired approach to the bass. Using effects and a highly expressive playing style, he pushes the instrument beyond its traditional role, bringing it to the forefront as both a melodic and harmonic voice.

Drawing inspiration from artists including Allan Holdsworth, Jaco Pastorius, David Binney and Wayne Krantz, his compositions blend modern jazz, fusion and contemporary improvisation, combining intricate harmony with energetic grooves and expansive textures.

Anchit Sengupta – Anchit Sengupta is an Indian origin, London based guitar player. While primarily being a jazz guitar player, he draws influences from range of other genres like rock, EDM, hip hop and funk. He has played in major venues in London such as Crazy Coqs and Southbank Purcell Room, alongside leading his own band gigs at various other venues like Lock Tavern and Jazztrain Shoreditch. In December 2025 he had the highest honour of playing music for the Royal Family of England.

Anchit has his own approach on the instrument of guitar. Drawing influences from jazz fusion heroes like Allan Holdsworth and Joe Zawinul, he explores a lot on the different languages of improvisation within the fusion lineage and more excitingly, experimenting with synth sounds on guitar. Together with Herbie Rees on bass, he formed the guitar trio organised chaos where a major characteristic of the music is exploring different sounds moving away from the traditional guitar trio sonic space, and loosening the hierarchal bass and guitar relationship so that the bass gets much more melodic freedom and guitar gets more responsibility on the time.
