Esther Bennett Quartet

Esther Bennett is a highly respected and widely loved jazz singer on the vibrant London jazz scene. With a delightful blend of sensitivity and sparkling humor, her captivating performances leaves audiences spellbound.

Her debut album, “Just in Time,” was masterfully produced by the acclaimed singer Ian Shaw and launched at London’s renowned 606 Club. Since then, Esther has built a prestigious career as a jazz singer, captivating audiences in major venues across London, throughout the country and in Europe.

Joined by the talented pianist Terence Collie (alongside others to be confirmed), Esther will enchant the audience with her original compositions from previous releases and her latest album, “Home is Where the Art Is.” This remarkable album, released under 33 Jazz Records, garnered a glowing ⭐⭐⭐⭐ review in Jazzwise Magazine.

In addition to her own material, Esther will also present her highly unique interpretations of well-known jazz standards, infusing them with her distinctive touch.

During the lockdown period, Esther collaborated with pianist Terence Collie and other renowned jazz musicians from the London jazz scene to create the EP “Safe Places.” This collection showcases entirely original compositions that reflect Esther’s artistic expression during this challenging time.

Another notable release during this period was an EP featuring the songs of the late saxophonist and composer Duncan Lamont, with whom Esther had the privilege of working for nearly a decade while touring “The Duncan Lamont Songbook.”

This year, Esther Bennett has once again joined forces with Terence Collie to produce and record a new album titled “Home is Where the Art Is.” A labor of love, this album delves into Esther’s Birmingham roots and family connections through poetry and spoken word. Additionally, the album showcases Esther’s trademark humor, storytelling ability, and poignancy through unique and quirky interpretations of well-known jazz standards.

Tonight’s performance will be a captivating blend of material from all these recordings, promising a textured, well-crafted, and fascinating musical experience. Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring some of London’s most experienced jazz artists!
