Groove Verse is a putting on a special Hip Hop edition – combining the best of the improvised jazz scene with the most exciting rappers in the country!

4 rappers will compete in an audience vote for the chance to headline the next show. PLUS each half will end with a headline set from some of the biggest names in the underground UK rap scene.

The night is all about creation – and the jeopardy that it could all go wrong. Importantly, however, we bring a band made up of serious musicians, the likes of which have played on some of the biggest stages in the world, alongside some of the biggest artists in the world – including Celeste, King Krule, Arlo Parks, Rex Orange County, Kwaku Asante + more!

It’s all about the moment. Our performers can request certain things in real-time from the band, or get up and do their thing and let the band fill in behind them.

We encourage our artists to give some context before starting their performances. This not only helps the audience follow along but also gives the band hints as to what texture and tone to use to complement the performance.

The result? A night of never-to-be-repeated moments of musical mayhem and lyrical wizardry. And so far we’ve sold out EVERY SHOW we’ve ever put on in both London and Manchester.
