Gypsy Swing Guitar Workshop with Filippo Dall’Asta & Harry Diplock


This masterclass was originally billed to present Gypsy Jazz legend Jimmy Rosenberg from the Netherlands. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected medical emergency. Jimmy Rosenberg is currently unable to perform at our venue. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 

As the masterclass consiste of both local and international performers we have managed to get the highly acclaimed Harry Diplock to replace Jimmy Rosenberg.

The workshop will cover:

– The picking technique for Gypsy jazz guitar

– The authentic Gypsy Jazz rhythm also know as “La Pompe”

– Traditional Gypsy Jazz licks, as well as more modern ones

– Exercises to implement into your practice routine, to gradually improve your playing day by day.

The whole workshop will be recorded, and each attendant will be send the Whole recording via email.

Join the legendary Gypsy Swing guitar Jimmy Rosenberg and Filippo Dall’Asta for a 2 hours intensive guitar workshop.

Jimmy Rosenberg started playing guitar when he was seven years old. Two years later he led his own trio, the Gypsy Kids, which played in the Gypsy jazz tradition and appeared on the British documentary Django Legacy. The trio released its first album, Safari, when Rosenberg was twelve. A year later Rosenberg released his debut solo album, Swinging with Jimmy Rosenberg In 1995, the Gypsy Kids consisted of Jimmy Rosenberg, Johnny Rosenberg, and Rinus Steinbach. They performed at the Django Reinhardt Festival in France and toured the U.S. To avoid a lawsuit by the Gipsy Kings, the Gypsy Kids changed their name to Sinti. Rosenberg pursued a solo career in 1997.
