Critically-acclaimed Italian vocalist Irene Serra (Wynton Marsalis US3) and guitarist Luca Boscagin (Jason Rebello, Cinematic Orchestra, Jim Mullen) have joined forces to create a special evening called “The Great British Songbook”.

Brought together by their passion for British pop music, they have handpicked some of the most loved songs by famous British singer and/or songwriters of the last 70 years and created fresh-sounding, unique arrangements. From The Beatles to Sting, Massive Attack and Imogen Heap, this evening will be a celebration of some of most defining songs of the British music scene.

Irene Serra – an Italian Jazz vocalist and composer, has made a significant impact in the jazz world with her diverse and eclectic repertoire. Based in London, she is celebrated for her masterful renditions of jazz standards, blues, Brazilian music, and original compositions. Her musical journey started at the Academy of Music in Milan, where she studied under the guidance of renowned jazz vocalist Tiziana Ghighlioni. Irene’s passion for jazz took her to London, where she continued her studies at Goldsmiths College, later earning a distinction in her Masters in Music Performance from the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama.

Irene’s career has been marked by performances at prestigious venues such as the Barbican, where she shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Southbank Centre, Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Union Chapel, and King’s Place. These appearances have established her as a thoughtful and intelligent musician, deeply committed to her craft.

Her original project, ISQ, received critical acclaim and was a ‘Time Out Critics Choice’ in 2015. Irene was also longlisted for “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the 2022 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and was a finalist in the Shure Montreux Jazz Competition in 2009. Currently, she is working on her 5th album with ISQ and is involved in recording and touring “The Great British Songbook” project alongside Luca Boscagin. The album is scheduled for release in Autumn 2024.

Luca Boscagin – a guitarist, complements Irene’s music with his diverse background influenced by Rock and Jazz. Since moving to London in 2009, attracted by the British music scene, he has collaborated with various Italian and international musicians such as Eliot Zigmund, Jim Mullen, Troy Miller, Ares Tavolazzi, Fabrizio Bosso, Omar Leyfolk, and The Cinematic Orchestra. His recording experiences include sessions at iconic studios like Abbey Road and Real World. Together, Irene and Luca create a unique blend of musical experiences, bringing their distinct styles and influences to their collaborative projects.
