Her journey into the world of music began at the age of 7 when she started studying ethnic percussion in southern Italy. It was here that she honed her remarkable technique, particularly on frame drums and tammorras, quickly establishing herself as a professional musician.
At the age of 16, Laura decided to shift her musical focus from percussion to drums, marking the beginning of her artistic journey into the realm of jazz music. She delved deep into jazz drumming, immersing herself in studies under the tutelage of drummer Roberto Gatto at the Rome Conservatory.
Additionally, she participated in masterclasses and workshops led by an array of international jazz luminaries, including Peter Erskine, Jorge Rossy, Greg Hutchinson, Jeff Ballard, Antonio Sanchez, Aaron Goldberg, Larry Grenadier, Mark Turner, Peter Bernstein, Gege Munari, Andy Sheppard, Seamus Blake, Gary Novak, Mark Guiliana, Johnathan Blake, Nasheet Waits, David Kikoski, Eddie Gomez, Francisco Mela, Dave Liebman, Flavio Boltro, Avishai Cohen, Joshua Redman, and Scott Colley.
Currently, Laura is involved in various musical projects, both as a bandleader and a valued sideman. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, she received invitations to perform at the ‘Swing in the Wind’ festival in Switzerland with her project ‘Orange Trip,’ in addition to other esteemed Italian and European festivals.
Her musical collaborations extend across borders, notably in England, where she frequently performs alongside numerous esteemed figures in the English jazz scene. Noteworthy venues where she has showcased her talents include the Boulevard Theater in Soho and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
