Chicago-born saxophonist Alexander Skinner has established a reputation as a creative collaborator in the midwestern US, South Korea and the London jazz scene.

Alex has had the privilege of working with some of the biggest talent in the music industry, performing music across a diverse range of styles. While touring South Korea he played with esteemed jazz musicians Se-Young Kim, Chang-Eun Lee, and Jae-Min Kim, resulting in two albums of original music.

Now, he is winning hearts in London with his powerful sound, sensitivity to the music, and empathy for his audience. Alexander has shared the stage with The Ruckus, David Mrakpor of Blue Lab Beats, Andrew McKay, Andy Davies, and Patterns. He is currently working on an EP.

His new show ‘Mood’, keeps one eye on the past while the other gazes at a possible future, combining, at once, reverence for tradition with an ambition to innovate.

‘A central tenet of ‘Mood’ is rememberance. I wanted to create a show where vibes mix with the music of my influences—blues, gospel, rock and roll, and jazz—and bows respect to all musicians and music-makers that have come before me. ‘Mood’ reminds me of the people who have inspired me and left their mark.
