London-based jazz vocalist Louise Balkwill is a rising star in the European jazz scene, known for her charismatic, blues-infused, and unpretentious vocal style. Winning first prize in the jazz vocal category at Riga Jazz Stage 2022, she captivated audiences with her emotional performance. Balkwill has graced iconic venues such as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and Nardis Jazz Club in Istanbul. Additionally, she performs with The Puppini Sisters, the world’s leading close-harmony group. Her collaborations include releasing the single “Sweeter Than A Summer Breeze” with trumpeter Leroy Jones in May 2023, showcasing her lyrical talents.
Rob Barron, a highly regarded London-based jazz pianist, arranger, and composer, is celebrated for his improvisational skill and musicality inspired by Blue Note legends. A graduate of Leeds College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Barron has performed with jazz greats such as Phil Woods, Grant Stewart, and Al Jarreau. His debut album, “From This Moment On,” received critical acclaim and has over 7 million plays on digital platforms. Barron also contributes to the jazz community as a professor of jazz piano at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Theo Malka-Wishart, a promising bassist in the UK jazz scene, was initially self-taught before being mentored by renowned bassist Yaron Stavi. He frequently performs at London jazz clubs, often leading his own ensembles in a cordless trio format. Malka-Wishart’s music draws on the fundamentals of jazz and bebop, blending them with modern influences. His bass heroes include Arvell Shaw, Curly Russell, and Charlie Mingus, reflecting his deep appreciation for jazz history.
Drummer Joshua Walker-Martin, from a musically enriched family, began performing at age eight, inspired by legends like Max Roach and Elvin Jones. He has collaborated with notable London musicians, including Simon Spillett and Louise Balkwill. Morrison has contributed to albums such as Louise Balkwill’s “First Class” and leads his project “CLAMOUR!” He continues to refine his craft, studying with acclaimed drummers and composing for film and game with Danial Ward.
