Mexico’s Woman of the Year for Arts and Culture, Migdalia Van Der Hoven presents her brilliant quartet focusing on music from the jazz and jazz fusion repertoire; with catchy melodies, hard swing, and heavy groove!
Together with her band, she’ll be performing a mixture of original and contemporary tunes as part of her debut album “Point of Departure” recorded live at Abbey Road Studios with Wikus van der Hoven (Sax) James Edmonds (Bass) and Michael Horner (Piano). Expect a very accessible West Coast style sound, which promises to keep you enthralled and engaged.
Migdalia Van Der Hoven is an International Award-winning Mexican drummer, who is currently working in the jazz, musical theatre and function scene in the UK and across the globe. Credits include: SIX The Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Cake The Musical, amongst other West End shows.
She is also a Canopus Drums, Vater Drumsticks and Bosphorus Cymbals artist. She is a Berklee College of Music alumni, and has performed with The Kingdom Choir (Royal Albert Hall); YolanDa Brown OBE (Royal Albert Hall); Mawaan Rizwan (The Roundhouse) amongst others. Migdalia has billed alongside Bryan Adams, Ronan Keating and James Blunt as part of the Cornbury Festival in 2022.
