A swinging Saturday night of classic 1920s and 1930s tunes from 5-piece band Biscuit Town, featuring the superb vocals of Immy Churchill.
Biscuit Town are an early-era swing band with a hard-driving acoustic rhythm and smoking horn section in the finest New Orleans tradition. Returning to Toulouse Lautrec after two sold out shows earlier in the year, they recreate the hot jazz sounds of the 1920s, 1930s and early 1940s.
Immy Churchill is a jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter, lyricist and educator. She has been described as a “rising star”, striding out in the London jazz scene and playing her own original music at venues such as The Green Note, Pizza Express Holborn and The Vortex. This is also extended to performances alongside Emma Rawicz’s Quintet and Jazz Orchestra at Ronnie Scott’s and The Jazz Cafe and tours around Europe as part of The Lukas Derungs’ Quintet.
