Robin Phillips Sings & Plays: Tony Bennett

Robin celebrates Tony Bennett’s centenary with timeless standards and rarely heard verses, supported by the contemporary jazz-funk of the Adam Roberts Trio.

Celebrating the 100th birthday of a musical legend

Robin Phillips returns to Toulouse Lautrec for a special celebration of Tony Bennett, marking what would have been the legendary singer’s 100th birthday.

From his early years as a popular swing singer to the intimate jazz performances that defined his later career, Bennett became one of the finest interpreters of the Great American Songbook. His extraordinary vocal control and heartfelt delivery were particularly evident on his celebrated recordings with jazz pianist Bill Evans.

Expect timeless favourites alongside lesser-known gems chosen from Bennett’s remarkable repertoire. Sharing Bennett’s love of rarely performed opening verses, Robin will also reveal forgotten introductions to familiar standards, bringing fresh meaning to songs audiences know and love.
