They are joined by special guest NICOLA KEEN.
Charles Miller, a highly respected composer in musical theatre, is best known for his acclaimed works. Notable compositions include Brenda Bly: Teen Detective, which premiered at London’s Bridewell Theatre and achieved global success. His collaboration with lyricist Kevin Hammonds also produced No One In The World, which enjoyed runs in London and Off-Broadway. In 2013, When Midnight Strikes, a musical he co-wrote, received a Best Musical nomination at the Off-West End Awards. His international success extends to Hope, initially performed at the Bridewell Theatre in London.
Aside from musicals, Charles Miller’s songs are staples in the cabaret scenes of London and New York. Notable revues, like Build Me A Bridge, have showcased his work, with performances at venues such as The Battersea Barge, Bridewell Theatre, and Don’t Tell Mama in New York. Mary Stout’s one-woman show, Mary Sings Miller, also garnered significant acclaim.
Fenton Gray, a versatile performer in the West End, has left a lasting impression with his diverse roles. Noteworthy credits include The Rabbi in Trevor Nunn’s Fiddler On The Roof, Manfred in Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close, Gus The Theatre Cat in Cats, and Pimp/Clacquesous in Les Miserables. He played integral roles in the original casts of Blood Brothers and Top Hat.
Gray is a seasoned Gilbert and Sullivan (G&S) operettas performer, frequently taking on the role of Ko-Ko in The Mikado over the past 25 years. His G&S expertise extends to performances with The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company and The Carl Rosa Opera Company, captivating audiences at venues like Sadler’s Wells, the Gielgud Theatre, and on tours in the UK and USA.
In addition to G&S, Gray has portrayed various key G&S characters on national tours, including Jack Point in The Yeomen Of The Guard, Bunthorne in Patience, and Sir Joseph Porter in HMS Pinafore. He also headlined as the title character in The Sorcerer for Opera Della Luna.
Fenton Gray’s impressive career also includes a notable collaboration with composer Charles Miller and lyricist Kevin Hammonds. He directed the original productions of their musicals, such as Brenda Bly: Teen Detective, When Midnight Strikes, Hope, and RSVP ASAP.
